Introduction
Comma Chan is the founder of Theatre in the Dark, and awarded as Ten Outstanding Young Persons” in 2016 . With non-congenital blindness, in the past, he actively participated in various art activities in the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau, where he showed great passion in promoting inclusive art. In 2013, he founded Theatre in the Dark, where participants can have a unique and non-visuals theatre experience in the dark. Apart from public performance, Theatre in the Dark also joined a project organised by the Labour and Welfare Bureau, and created stories including “Song without Sound” in 2014 ( 20 showings ) , “The secret of hamlet” in 2015 ( 20 showings ) and “Never Walk Alone” Teenage Inclusive Sharing Scheme - Theatre in the Dark Experience (25 shows) to advocate the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. He is now a chairman of. He is now the chairperson of Inclusive Theatre “Legend of the Myth”, and has collaborated with people of different experiences, performing more than 100 theatrical stories.
Comma is now an experienced trainer for corporation, as well as the first blindness trainer of social enterprise Dialogue in the Dark. He is good at integrating darkness and theatrical methods, which had provided trainings for more than hundred corporations.
“Encountering setbacks is just a Comma rather than a Full stop.” Since he believes the possibility of life, he changes his name as “Comma” to actively promote life education. Comma is now the host of an online radio programme “I have my own sky” from “Fun Channel”, where he shows the positive power of life through interviewing persons with disabilities. He had organised more than 100 life educating activities in different schools.
